The Florida Business Travel Association - South Florida Chapter (FBTA) provides an important forum for the exchange of information, education and ideas among its members, who include representatives from local corporations and leading travel industry suppliers. Our emphasis is to work together to better understand new and emerging travel management practices.

FBTA is committed to enhancing the travel profession by sponsoring educational and informational programs for its members, and by providing top-rated speakers to address travel-related issues, concerns and current "hot topic" items.

Our chapter is an excellent venue for the sharing of travel-related information and professional expertise and is an organization focused on perfecting the science of business travel management.

BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Open Positions 2019 – 2020

• Five elected positions available:

o President-Elect - One year
o Vice President Sponsorship- Two years
o Director, Member Care - Two years
o Vice President of Fundraising & Philanthropy - Two years
o Vice President of Direct Member Focus Group (Must be a Direct Member) - Two years

• Terms are 1 and 2 years, January 1, 2019 – December 31, 2019, and December 31, 2020

• Prerequisites for running:

o Complete online application below
o Must be a member in good standing and GBTA South Florida membership current
o Must be employed in the travel industry
o Must have support from your company to attend chapter meetings and board meetings


Current Board Members running for a Term must also complete Nomination Form

• Deadline for submitting an application is Friday, August 31st, 2018.
• Nomination chair will present the slate of nominees on the website

Ballots will be posted on the website and be available for voting Wednesday, September 9th, through Wednesday, September 23rd.

o Final results from ballots received will be announced Friday, October 19th, 2018
o New board will be inducted at Big MAC Night, December 7th

Big MAC Night & Board Installation: December 7th 6:00pm – 11:00pm

• Elected Requirements:

o Attending the transition meeting between old and new board in November (date and location – TBD )
o Attending board meetings – usually following chapter meetings with two retreats one in December all day Friday and Saturday until 4PM and one mid-year retreat.
o Attending chapter meetings – 2nd Wednesday of the month – Four Annual plus Day of Education
o Attending chapter sponsor activities
o Fulfilling their position duties as outlined in the bylaws and as confirmed by the president and/or GBTA South Florida board

• Annual Functions:

o 6 regular chapter meetings (Jan, Mar, June, Sept, Oct)
o Day of Education – May
o Installation Ceremony October/November
o Annual Fundraisers - Silent Auctions, Bottles & Brushes, Golf Tournament, Casino Night, Marlins Baseball
