Meet our Speakers

Kevin Coffey

Detective Kevin Coffey is an internationally known safety expert, who helps organizations keep their employees traveling safe and smart. He is also a leading resource to the meeting and hospitality industries as a duty of care and risk reduction expert. Detective Coffey’s background is unique. A highly decorated officer, Kevin founded the Los Angeles Airport’s Crime Investigation Detail and he is now an instructor with the University of Southern California’s Safer Communities Institute. When the media needs an expert they look to Kevin as a subject matter expert. Kevin’s media appearances include: The Oprah Winfrey Show, 20/20, The Travel Channel, NBC, CNN and he has been quoted in The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, INC, Los Angeles Times,  plus many more publications and broadcasts.

Randy Dean

Randy Dean, the “E-mail Sanity Expert” ® is a professional speaker and expert on time & e-mail management, effective organization, and the related use of technology. For more than 20 years, Randy has been leading training and speaking programs for major corporate, university, association, and government audiences. Shane Downey

Shane Downey is Vice President of Government Relations at The Global Business Travel Association, the voice of the $1.4 trillion business travel industry. GBTA is the world’s largest organization representing this sector and counts among its members more than 9,000 business travel professionals across six different continents. In addition to serving as the association’s lead lobbyist in Washington, D.C. Shane oversees a countrywide grassroots campaign and the Business Travel PAC. He also leads GBTA’s efforts with EU official in Brussels. Shane has worked at GBTA for 10 years and he has achieved many legislative successes and worked to raise the profile of GBTA on the Hill and abroad. Prior to joining GBTA, Shane was a Senior Associate at a lobbying firm in Washington, D.C., and before that Shane worked on several Congressional Campaigns. Shane received his B.A in History from The Ohio State University. Shane also served in the United States Marine Corp and is a Desert Storm veteran.

Miriam Abujasen - Moderator 

Miriam is the Global Travel Manager at Brightstar Corporation. Brightstar is the global force that moves the wireless industry forward, simplifying the wireless world, making mobile technology accessible to everyone. As the Global Travel Manager at Brightstar Corporation, she is responsible to ensure policy compliance, maintain and establish vendor relationships and assess current situation to appropriately plan for global consolidation of the entire travel program encompassing corporate card, expense and travel management. She’s had the fortunate experience of growing up through the ranks of the travel industry —from a reservation agent at Eastern Airlines to Training Manager for American Express Travel, she implemented a global travel program at  Burger King Corporation, and has executed a comprehensive program at Brightstar that includes travel, expense and corporate card. She is proud of her “grass roots” growth and continues to chart the course of professional development.

Theo Szymanski

Theo Szymanski is an industry veteran with over 20 years of experience in corporate travel technology. Having lived and worked in Australia, China and India, Theo relocated to the US in 1996, where he held various management roles with United Airlines, Trondent and Sabre. In his present role as Director of Business Development at TRIPBAM, Theo consults with corporate travel & procurement managers, helping them optimize their overall hotel program performance and spend. By adhering to his business philosophy of “prescription without diagnosis is malpractice”, Theo is passionate about delivering “pain relief solutions” that are tailored to his clients’ specific goals & objectives.

Bradley Schwartz

Bradley Schwartz is a Key Account Manager at Booking.com for Business, the 3rd largest e-commerce technology company in the world. He is responsible for enabling enterprise partners to save time and money in the ever-changing travel vertical by incorporating Booking.com’s 29+ million listings within their existing corporate travel and expense programs. When Bradley isn't meeting with customers providing data-driven solutions, his passion for travel has him visiting new destinations around the world.

 Mike Daly

Mike Daly has over twenty years in travel technology across corporate and leisure markets. After starting his travel career at United Airlines, Mike was instrumental to the development of online booking at GetThere, Travelocity and Sabre. More recently, Mike helped grow Deem in corporate travel procurement as their VP of Strategic Accounts. In August 2018, Mike joined Freebird as Senior VP of Sales to drive growth of the startup’s mobile rebooking technology. Mike is also a strong supporter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) charities and events in the Southeast.
